This piece is inspired by zinnias, hydrangeas, and other tiny flowers of delight from a dear friends garden. I call the piece "Not someday--but this day." Inspired by the practice (and pleasure) of finding joy and hope in this very moment, in this very place--hello here and now. 

I am inspired by the final line in Jan Richardson's poem, "Blessing of Hope," a prayer of sorts that we might know hope

"Not someday
 but this day
 everyday
 again and
 again and
 again."  

This painting is a prayer that it might be so.
