In a heartbreaking world, spring happens too.

I find there is something, perhaps a lot, intolerable about middle life. We begin saying goodbye to the ones who came before us while simultaneously releasing the ones coming after us. We face the truth that everything changes: aging happens, illness happens, loss happens, death happens.

And still —

Blue skies happen.
Butterflies happen.
Growth happens.
Love happens.
Spring happens too.

Nothing can be held onto forever. Life itself is constant motion, constant transformation, constant letting go. Perhaps the invitation is not to cling tighter, but to live more fully inside the fleetingness of it all.

To love wholeheartedly.
To give generously.
To receive beauty while it is here.

Even as it slips gently through our fingers.
