Tell a Story of Hope no. 1

$400.00

Recently, I sat in meditation with a heavy heart.

As I was sitting there, I heard the tiniest knock.

I stood up from meditation, opened the door, and there was my dear friend Rev. Grace, a Buddhist minister, holding a small offering she had brought for me.

In that moment I thought: this is how grace comes into our lives.

With the tiniest knock—so quiet you might miss it if you aren't sitting in stillness, open to love and kindness.

During the season I created this series, Ramadan and lent are underway. I join my Muslim siblings praying for peace, for love, for light.

I join my Christian siblings observing Lent—a season of waiting and transformation, trusting that love will return to us in new forms even when hope seems lost.

It is a devastating time to be alive.

And it is also a sacred time to be alive.

Here in the northern hemisphere, spring is quietly beginning. The miracle of new life pushing up through frozen soil. Flowers emerge from the darkest earth.

These floral paintings are a small reminder of that truth.

They remind me to remain hopeful.

And to be part of creating the kinder, more loving world I long to see.
